New Happenings: Halloween

Today's weather certainly feels like Halloween is right around the corner! We have lots of Halloween products we want to share with you. At the time this post was written, all of the products were in stock and still available. As many seasonal items sell out, we are unable to restock them as they are gone from the vendors. Don't wait if there's something you really want. It may be here in the morning and completely gone by afternoon. That happened yesterday with a Christmas collection that I put on the wall in the morning and by 1 pm, they were all gone!

We have stamps, dies, embossing folders, and paper collections from Taylored Expressions.

Lots of great goodies from Echo Park and Carta Bella.

Paper collections, stamps, stencils, stickers, and chipboard!

Rare Oddities from Graphic 45. This collection has sold so quickly!

That's all for today! There's more to come tomorrow!!!!

New Happenings

Albums! Page Protectors! For some reason, albums and page protectors feel like an afterthought so often. It's all about the pages. But what about what you're putting the pages in? What about the album?

Inky Hot Mess offers a variety of albums and page protectors. We offer albums in 3 sizes - 12"x12", 6"x8",  and 4"x4". All of our albums are D-Ring. Why D-Ring? Have you ever sat there with a screw driver and RoboGrip pliers trying to unscrew the screw and post in a post-bound album just so you can put your page protectors in it? Ever cut yourself or bruise your hands doing this? Unfortunately, I have done all of the above! It wasn't pretty by any means.

Ironically, the very first album I bought back in 2002 was a D-Ring album from We R Memory Keepers. I still use that album today! It's actually on display in the shop. For some reason, the industry abandoned D-Ring albums in favor of the post-bound albums soon after. I am so happy that the D-Ring album has made a resurgence! My hands are incredibly happy. Those RoboGrip pliers have been very lonely since I went back to D-Rings.

Inky Hot Mess features albums from We R Memory Keepers (WRMK), Project Life, American Crafts, KaiserCraft, and Simple Stories.

We have page protectors available from WRMK, Project Life, and Simple Stories.

The 12"x12" albums have universal rings. The 6"x8" albums typically need the page protectors from the same brand.

The WRMK and Project Life 4"x4" page protectors can both be used in the 4"x4" albums designed for Instagram. You can also use these albums for your Instax pics!

Have you been looking for the Fuse? There's a version from WRMK and Project Life. They are the exact same tool! Inky Hot Mess was finally to get our hands on the Project Life version. We also have the Waterfall Photo Sleeves that work with the Fuse and your page protectors.

New Happenings

In this post, I will be sharing The Story of Our Family from Echo Park.

Inky Hot Mess has several products from this paper crafting line. We have the 6"x6" paper pad and the 12"x12" paper collection. The paper collections contain stickers in addition a variety of papers.

There is a clear set of stamps that coordinates with The Story of Our Family. The ephemera is super cute! Echo Park's ephemera is printed die cuts that coordinate with the collection.

Echo Park also has printed chipboard stickers that also coordinate with this collection.

This collection is not only great for fall, but year round! There are so many great icons in this collection like an old fashioned sewing machine. Do you or a family quilt or sew? Did great grandma make her our dresses or quilts? This would be fabulous to scrapbook photos of those items!

There's a cute tree which you can use for a family tree or along side the little houses. Welcome to the neighborhood! Congratulations on your new home. So many possibilities.

Love the vintage telephone and typewriter. They remind me of my grandparents. They had a bunch of typewriters from my aunts and uncle. And someone was always on the phone! Their dining room floor is the black and white linoleum checkerboard. I always loved that when I was a little girl. Crafting a journal with The Story of Our Family about your memories of your grandparents, great- grandparents, aunts, and uncles would be an amazing project. What a great way to share with your children or nieces/nephews about family who they may not remember or know much about or who are gone.

The fine print: This discount cannot be combined with any discounts. Previously purchased items are not eligible for this discount. Special orders cannot receive this discount. This discount does not apply to website orders. Inky Rewards cards will not be stamped for this discount.

New Happenings

This post I will show you the school products we currently have. I want to say there's another school collection coming out soon....but for the life of me I can't remember who is releasing it right now!

Over the last couple of weeks, our school selection has really grown! We have school themed enamel dots, varsity letters in 3 colors - blue, red, and black, stickers, Project Life/pocket scrapbooking cards, 12x12 collection, 6x6 paper pad, and stamps.

Teacher's Pet was just released by Echo Park. We carry the clear stamps and the 12"x12" paper collection.

This is our final blog post for the weekend! I will be back on Tuesday with lots more! (Inky Hot Mess is closed Sundays and Mondays) See you then!

New Happenings

I just discovered a ton of photos I took with my phone and I'm not sure I ever blogged about all the goodies we received as they were coming in. It was pretty crazy when the Halloween, autumn, and Christmas products first started arriving....In 2 days, we received over 20 boxes! So today I'm going to share lots of those items with you! I'm going to do a series of blog posts and break them up into products that fall into the same theme or similar items....well I'll try at least!

First up, we have the Ground Espresso Distress release from Tim Holtz. We have all 6 items that were released in August - Distress Ink Pad, Distress Stain, Distress Spray Stain, Distress Marker, Distress Ink Reinker, and Distress Paint.

Inky Hot Mess has new racks for the Distress Inks. We've also added several colors.

Do you journal? We have two sizes of journals from Dylusions. We carry both the small and the large Creative Journals. They are filled with mixed media paper.

We ordered a whole bunch of display racks. The Dylusions Ink Sprays and Distress Spray Stains all have new homes. We also added a few more colors of each.

Our Distress Stains also received a new home. We now have 36 colors!

You can find 42 colors of Stickles at Inky Hot Mess. I believe there are a few colors we don't have yet, but we will be adding them soon! Who doesn't live glitter? Especially glitter that is contained and comes with it's own glue.

We now have all 42 colors of Liquid Pearls available! There were 6 new colors released over the summer and we have all of them. Gotta love the bling!

You can find dozens of stencil at Inky Hot Mess! We offer stencils from Tim Holtz, Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi, Dylusions, Dina Wakley Media, and Echo Park in this grouping.

Oh and we also restocked the Flip Flop Decorative Tape (washi tape) from Echo Park. This was crazy popular!

Did You Know?

It's time for another segment of Did You Know? We're going to have a little chat about Distress Stain. Inky Hot Mess is frequently asked what can you do with Distress Stain. And our answer is lots of cool things! Today, we'll show you how to give your wood veneers lots of pizazz!

Distress Stains

So you know that Distress Stains come in all the same colors as Distress Inks, right? Well, there are a few more colors. There are 3 metallics - Antiqued Brass, Brushed Pewter, and Tarnished Bronze - and a pigmented white - Picket Fence. All Distress Stains come in a bottle with a dauber top.

Naked wood chips

For this demo, we're going to use Ripe Persimmon and Antiqued Bronze Distress Stain. Grab some wood veneers. We are using the autumn and October wood chips from the Autumn Harvest Living Life.

Wood chips with pizazz

This is one of the easiest ways to alter your embellishments. Seriously. It's simple! All you do is rub the dauber onto your wood veneer. Repeat until you get the color you want. If you want a dark color, let it dry in between coats.

The metallic does look metallic in person. It does show a bit in the photo. It's so hard to photograph metallics especially in a banquet room at a hotel!

Think of all the cool things you can do to your wood veneers! Got pumpkins? You can make them orange. Snowflakes? You can make them white or pewter or white with pewter on top or blues! Got alphas? You can spell out your school name using the school colors. You can spell out your child's name in their favorite color. The possibilities are pretty much endless.
