Thursday's New Items 02-26-2015

This week Inky Hot Mess is partying with glass glitters, stamping, and embossing. We certainly love to play with all of these goodies and we're happy to share them with you!

We are totally in love with the new Glass Glitters from Prima Marketing. We have 2 more colors added to our shop. This week we have added Copper Glass Glitter and Platinum Glass Glitter. Love these!

Hold on to your hats! We've got lots and lots of stamping gadgets and gizmos this week. Need to clean your stamps? Inky Hot Mess has you covered. We have added a Double Sided Stamp Scrubber and a Stamp Cleaner Spray to our shop

A few things to add to your stamping pleasure.... Metallic Copper Embossing Powder. Specialty Stamping Paper (Tim Holtz uses this a ton!). Stamp 'n Bond Powder (use this to add flock and glitter to your stamped images.).

Of course we need some stamps! We have added the Inspiration Phrase Roller Stamp from October Afternoon. We just love these roller stamps. They are perfect for crops. No need to bring a whole bunch of stamps with you....just a roller or two and you have a ton of phrases.

We have 2 new stamp sets as well. It has been extremely cold and snowy in the Finger Lakes this winter. The folks in our office are kind of over winter. The lovely cold and snow even followed Inky on her trip to the Carolinas! She was dreaming of warm weather and thinking about the beach. So she decided to add 2 new beach themed stamps this month. Both stamp sets are clear sets from Prima Marketing. They even coordinate with each other. First, we have the Sailboat: Seashore Clear Stamps. Second are the Vacation: Seashore Clear Stamps.

We hope you enjoy the new products this week! Remember, every Thursday Inky Hot Mess shares with you what is new in our shop. These items may be available before Thursday!

Creative Team: Shyra

What can you create with a Living Life collection? The answer from our Creative Director Shyra is plenty! She recently attended a crop and spent the weekend creating and embellishing journaling cards from the Autumn Harvest Living Life and Adventure Seeker Living Life collections.

Reminders of the collections:

Autumn Harvest Living Life:

Adventure Seeker Living Life:

Adventure Seeker Embellishment Kit:

Adventure Seeker Journaling Cards & Flair Kit:

Using a designed journaling card as is can be just what your layouts need. Shyra used just a simple card - no extra embellishing.....You'll see how rare that is for her!

You can always make your own journaling cards whenever you need them. Taking something as simple as cardstock and embellishing it can give you exactly what you need. She used a flair, sticker, and ribbon as her embellishments. Why the yellow? She was visiting the Great Smokey Mountains in the autumn and wanted to use only colors found on autumn trees for these photos.

Shyra has always struggled with journaling. She's really making a conscious effort to journal. She's been working on photos from many moons ago - years - and is seeing how important getting those details down are. Even a trip from 5 years ago is tough to remember!

She actually journaled on a journaling card! And added a colored mini paper clip for a little pizazz.

Once again, Shyra created her own journaling card using cardstock. This is one of the Swiss Dots cardstocks from Bazzill. All she did was add a sticker and the sign veneer. Viola! Done.

Here we have 2 cards from the Adventure Seeker Living Life along with the journaling card Shyra made.

With the trip to Chimney Rock State Park in North Carolina, Shyra and her husband took tons of photos. She struggled to find outdoor theme kits and forget finding anything as specific as the park. So when necessary she crafter her own cards. This one is so simple! Cardstock, stickers, ribbon, and stamp from Outdoor Trail Clear Stamps.

Another card that is super simple! Cardstock, die cuts, stickers, and flair. Your'e done. Simple. Oh and yes those are elk in the photos!

These photos are from Cades Cove in the Great Smokey Mountains in Eastern Tennessee. Shyra made another journaling card with cardstock, burlap, twist ties, a die cut, and the Tiny Attacher. All of these pieces are in the Adventure Seeker Living Life and Adventure Seeker Embellishment Kit. Love how the twist ties are used to hang the Wild Adventure die cut......kind of looks like a hanging sign.

At some point, Shyra made an error in printing her photos. They weren't printed in true 4"x6". They were something like 4"x5.3" which is the true digital size. Oops! So all of those prints needed to be matted. She debated matting them on ivory cardstock, but thought that was too blah. She's a little crazy in her style. She loves color so she used scrapbook paper instead. Since there's about an inch of paper showing once the photos are cropped and matted, she needed to jazz them up. All she did was add some twine held in place with tiny attachers and a piece of flair. Done. Simple. Looks pretty snazzy!

Check  back soon. Shyra will be sharing more from this crop soon. She has plenty more to share!
